At St Mary’s we use Huchisons catering company to provide our food to our children. Huchinsons are a well established company within York who work with many of the York schools. The offer of food is excellent and the children love their school dinners.
Our cook, Sandra, has been with us for a long time and knows our children inside out. Any child with an allergy goes first for their dinner and we serve everyone else after. We work incredibly closely with parents of children with allergies to make sure they are absolutely catered for safely.
We have a really good relationship with Huchisons who are proactive in being in school to support our food offer. We work with Huchisons to regularly amend our menu when listening to parent and pupil voice.
For some of our packed lunch children, our incredible cooks provide taster pots for children to try alongside their pack up if they do not want a whole meal just yet.
