My name is Jayne Boast and I am the English Subject Lead at St Mary’s Primary School. I have experience of teaching English across all Key Stages. I understand and value the broad and unique role English plays in our curriculum, building foundations for pupils during their formal education and throughout their lives. I believe that all children must be given every opportunity to develop the confidence and skills to articulate their ideas and express themselves. 

At St Mary’s we have a strong reading culture and are determined that every child will learn to read and develop a genuine love for reading that stays with them forever. 

Likewise, we want to equip children with the skills to become confident, competent, writers who are able to use writing as a means of expression and as an effective communication tool.
