Teaching Assistant (Level 2) (15 hrs/week)

Start date: January 2026

St Mary’s CE Primary School is seeking to recruit an exceptional Teaching Assistant (Level 2) (15 hours/week in the mornings) to join our wonderful team and support the learning, well-being and development of our children. This role is based in Key Stage 1 and will involve providing individual pupil-targeted support for pupils with SEND, enabling them to access learning and thrive in school.

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who has:

  • Experience supporting primary-aged pupils, particularly in Key Stage 1 and those with SEND.
  • Experience or understanding of supporting neurodiverse children and the ability to adapt strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Patience, resilience and a calm, nurturing approach.
  • The ability to provide focused, consistent support to help children access learning and develop independence.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a supportive team.
  • The capacity to build positive relationships with children, staff and families.
  • High expectations of behaviour, progress and personal conduct.
  • A willingness to uphold and contribute to our Christian vision and values.
