Welcome to Class 4

Welcome to Class 4, a mixed-age class of Year 5 and Year 6. We are an experienced team made up of Stephanie Gee and Sally Walmsley as class teachers, and Kate Waugh as teaching assistant. We pride ourselves on having excellent relationships with the children, and pastoral support is key to our classroom life; relationships of trust are clearly evident between staff and children, ensuring everyone thrives.

We have high expectations of the children and have an inclusive classroom where all needs are supported. We cover history and geography topics such as the Tudors, WWII, Ancient Greeks, Deserts, Sustainable Energy and Oceans. We enjoy being creative in Art and DT, and are proud to display the children's work in the corridors. We read high-quality classroom texts and have a wonderful range of reading books in our class library. We love being active and try to be outdoors whenever possible. We enjoy taking part in inter-school sports competitions.

A highlight of our time in Class 4 is our residential visit to Newby Wiske where the children are challenged through multiple activities, which helps them bond as a class team.

We prepare the children for their transition to secondary school, and we reach their full potential, both academically and as young people. The children act as role models to the younger children in school, with our Junior/Infant partner link being a key part of school life.

Class 4 is a happy place to be!
